FAQ's

Aqua-Rex is the first device of its type with US independent third party performance verification. When tested by IAPMO R&T Labs it showed 83% scale reduction in Las Vegas water heated to 180 degrees Farenheit for 23 hours. Read the full report here.

Aqua-Rex is simple to install. You have 3 choices of placement.: 1) wrap the wires around the inlet pipe to the water heater; 2) on the softener loop; 3) anywhere else on the cold water supply. Remember the signal goes both up and downstream so you don’t need to pass the water through the wires to have it treated. Just plug the transformer into an outlet – that is all you have to do. No set up or calibrating and it needs no servicing, supplies or maintenance, it is Plug and Play. Aqua-Rex  uses minimal energy to run – in most areas about $20 per year. There are no pipes to cut or plumbing knowledge needed so its perfect if you are a Renter. Just remember to take it with you if you move homes because Aqua-Rex is easily removable as well.

Yes! Aqua-Rex treats all of the water, all of the time, even when the water is not flowing. It sends a signal into the water heater even when no water is flowing and it also sends a signal back into the cold supply in the rest of the home so mixing valves, showerheads and kitchen faucets won’t get scaled up either. It is OK to treat the water to the kitchen faucet because it doesn’t add unhealthy sodium to the water, instead it retains the healthy calcium.

Yes! Aqua-Rex retains the healthy calcium without adding unhealthy sodium to the water.

Aqua-Rex uses no salt or chemicals, so there are no unfriendly environmental discharges like a traditional water softener. It requires zero maintenance or servicing, and Aqua-Rex uses minimal amounts of energy to run – about $20 per year in most areas. there is no unpleasant taste to the water and Aqua-Rex does not risk any additional corrosion to your plumbing system. Its a lot less expensive to buy, install and maintain.

Aqua-Rex reduces scaling like a softener, but also gets rid of existing in the home, which a softener won’t do. Aqua-Rex partially softens hot water (traditional softeners do not), which makes soaps, shampoos, and cleansers lather better, leading to less product usage. since Aqua-Rex needs no salt, you’re not left with that slippery feeling left behind by sodium. plus, no more hauling of big heavy bags of salt!

You can wrap the Aqua-Rex wires on any type of pipe material: plastic or metal, even the flexible copper inlet pipe to the water heater.

If you have a gas water heater supplied by city water you need the WK1. If you have an electric heater, or if you are on a well water supply with a gas heater, you need the WK1-E. Both fit any line size up to 1″ and it makes no difference how large the home is or how much water is used.

Only you can decide that. Try it and see! We give you a no condition money back guarantee so you have nothing to lose except your limescale!

Swimming pools: Aqua-Rex is great for clearing the calcium scale from tiles and water features. It stops scaling in the salt water chlorine generator and makes the biocide work more efficiently. It reduces phosphates thus making the pool clearer. The WK1P is fully waterproof and should be installed on the circulating line after the pump.

No, the effectiveness of Aqua-Rex is reduced with the dishwashers pump, so be sure to continue using a detergent and rinse aid formulated specifically for hard water.

Aqua-Rex units are available for all pipe sizes and are installed on hotels, condos, industrial plants and cooling towers. They are used in schools, colleges and military bases, everywhere that hard water is a problem.
